The Charlottesville Chapter of the Potomac Appalachian Hiking Club hikes every Saturday. We meet at 9 a.m. in Charlottesville on the grounds of Albermarle High School. Bring lunch, water and rain gear. We carpool to the trailhead; riders are expected to offer $4 or more as suggested by the hike leader. Winter weather increases the chances of changing or cancellation of a scheduled hike. |

The Charlottesville Chapter of the Potomac Appalachian Trail, founded in 1986, hosts Saturday hikes in the Shenandoah National Park, along Skyline Drive or in other areas in the vicinity of Charlottesville. We devote one outing each month to working on trails: clipping brush, removing fallen trees, clearing waterbars, painting blazes, and maintaining the Little Calf Mountain bald.
